The first thing I do every morning is. I don’t turn hit the snooze button. Our brains conform to our habits. When you hit the snooze button the message you’re sending to your brain is that sleep is more important than getting up and crushing goals. Sleeping accomplishes nothing. Proper rest is good and essential, but even to much of a good thing can be bad for you. Having a bad day is predicated upon your morning (at least it was for me). In my opinion how you handle your morning is the most important part of your day. Way to many people wake up and just treat their morning like it’s just any old thing, but your morning should be thought out and planned the night before. The most important habit that you can develop is the habit of going to bed and waking up at the same time every morning. This habit alone will make a tremendous different in your life.
1st C: Control Your Mornings
Control what you can (your thoughts and actions), to make the right decisions, and to take personal responsibility. Control your mornings and you will win your days. The night before you should always plan your next day. In particular your mornings, you should know what you need to do as soon as you wake up the next morning. The first thing I always do when I wake up is read for an hour. The first hour of my day no matter where I’m at reading for the first hour. If I have to wake up early or go in the bathroom or whatever the case may be, I have to get my reading time in. The second thing I do is journal about how I want my day to go and give thanks to the things that I am thankful for. I don’t like meditating, so I use my gratitude journal as my form of meditation/prayer. While I’m doing all of this I always drink a glass of water, sometimes maybe two. I only eat once a day. If i break my cycle of once a day, I never break my cycle of eating before 12pm. This is how I win my mornings everyday and how the rest of my day goes smooth.
2nd C: Conquer Your Afternoons
Conquer the external chaos to overcome everyday challenges and to deal with life’s inevitable losses and disappointments with grace. The second phase of my philosophy is the part where other people come into your life. You can’t control what others will do, but you can control how you react. Everyday you should be ready to expect the unexpected. You will never be ready, you just have to be ready to be ready. Be ready to be ready to be ready. No matter how good you plan your day, other people will always knock you off course. Having the discipline and knowledge to know what matters and what doesn’t will help you conquer these situations. A lot of times you have to do things for the people you love that you don’t want to do. For example, Every now and then my grandma will call me to bring her something to eat, and of course that won’t be all once i get there. I will have to take out the trash, maybe wash the dishes, or even vacuum clean the floor. Easily I could let this distract me and get made and upset but I use this time to connect and build with her. I even explain what I have going on and what I’m trying to accomplish and she repeats that and only calls when she really needs me. Sometimes you have to be cold-hearted and separate yourself from people who always steal your time. If your friends, family, or even coworkers don’t respect your time, don’t give it to them. It’s more important to me that I accomplish what I set out to do than it is for me to sit around and gossip about things that doesn’t matter to me. You should be compelled to control your mornings and conquer your day, so that you can easily transition into the last part of your day with an amazing amount of self-gratification.
3rd C: Concentrate on what Matters
Concentrate on what counts-Your Vision-and be grateful for your place in life. You cannot control external circumstances, but however you can control your reaction to them. What matters most to you? The last part of my day before I wind it down and start concentrating on my morning is used for my family and friends that i may talk to on the phone. Whether that means going over to my moms for an hour or so, or watching tv or just talking with my girlfriend, or focusing on tending to my daughters needs. This can only happen if you control your mornings and crush your day. If you still have loose ends to tie up then you can’t concentrate on what really matters. I don’t take phone calls after 7:30pm unless it’s from family or a close friend. I don’t handle any business usually after that time either. I deal with a lot of people who allow me to help them shift their income (kfreeney52.myecon.net) and they know I don’t do business after 7:30pm. The key thing here is when your crush your day like your suppose to, you don’t have to do business after 7:30 because you’ve most likely handled everything you need to way before that time even gets here. My responsibilities to my family are the only thing that matter at the end of my days.
Structure, Structure, Structure
Throughout this article I have been teaching an underlying them. That underlying theme is structure. With a good structure for you to follow daily you can accomplish what you will. Even on the days you get off track, you always have your structure to get you back on the path. Become a control freak with your life and time, that’s the only true way that you will be able to achieve what you want to achieve in this life. Find you a model that works for you and put one word into your subconscious mind: Consistency.
